Aimee Dennis
Aimee Dennis serves as the Director of Special Programs and Leadership at the UT Tyler University Academy. Mrs. Dennis focuses on supporting special programs for the district, such as Federal Programs, testing, accountability, and sub-populations. She also focuses on building leadership capacity with individuals in the district from students to staff. Prior to this role, Mrs. Dennis was the principal for UT Tyler University Academy for six years and also served Tyler ISD as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, and Teacher for eight years.

The Born to Read Program, at the University of Texas at Tyler, is a vital part of the K-16 Literacy Center, School of Education, College of Education and Psychology.
Programs
The Born to Read Program, K-16 Literacy Center at UT Tyler, promotes early language and literacy skills, while helping parents understand their critical role as their child's first and most important teacher.
Meet our staff
Dr. Kouider Mokhtari, Anderson-Vukelja-Wright Endowed Chair, is Program Director of the K-16 Literacy Center, UT Tyler, along with Program Director Dr. Muthukrishnan Sathyamoorthy, Professor of Engineering. Betty Rose is the Program Coordinator.
